STUDENT SUPPORTED BY LOCAL BUSINESS SERVICE
JAB Business Services and the Stansted Airport Business Directory Group
have been supporting a local student this year and provided her with a
work placement crucial to her university course.
Katy Jameson, studying Public Relations with French at Leeds
Metropolitan University is from Elsenham village and approached the
local business Director for her help.
The course requires
students to produce a portfolio of genuine PR work for an organisation
and Julie Budden, Director of JAB Business Services and the Stansted
Airport Business Group has generously supported the young student in her
project. Katy explains, “The practical experience I have gained so far
this year has just been priceless and I have really enjoyed working as
part of the team. I’m so grateful for the opportunity they have given
me.” |

SECURITY WARNS AIRP ORT IS STILL NOT SAFE
BAA has approached the Stansted Airport Business
Group to organise a presentation for local
members and non-members on airport security.
Keen to remind us of the potential threats and
on-going issues with security at Stansted
Airport, the presentation will take place on
Tuesday 8th of May at the Radisson SAS. BAA aim to reach
as many businesses and individuals alike before
the holiday season arrives.
The security level is classified as ‘severe’ and
we must all be aware that strict security
remains in place.
The presentation, by Nick Cole, Director of
Terminal, will also detail the ways in which we
can all help the security department this
summer, as the revised regulations will continue
to have an impact on our airport's operations.
Following the presentation, which is open to
both members and non-members, there will be an
opportunity as always to network with fellow
colleagues and enjoy the refreshments and buffet
provided by our host venue. The meeting will be
held from 4.30pm until 6pm and further details
can be found in the Business Group Section of
this web site. Tickets cost £15 for
members and £20 for non-members (plus VAT). To
book, please contact Julie Budden on (01279) 87
00 64 or email

BUSINESS GROUP BUILDS BRIDGES ACROSS
COMMUNITY
January’s meeting for the Stansted Airport
Business Group’s saw one of its’ very own
members answer the donation appeal made by Essex
Air Ambulance.
Nockolds Solicitors have generously pledged
£1000 to begin an air ambulance service for
Hertfordshire, which does not currently exist.
Essex Air Ambulance attended the Stansted
Airport Business Group meeting, held at Manor of
Groves hoping to raise the profile of their very
worthy cause, and to ask for local support.
Regular business meetings have also helped the
community in other ways, as Anni of Airate
speaks of the support they provide for her
business, where she works alone. Networking is a
very valuable tool and the events enable her to
meet a wide range of business people from the
airport community, talk about the work they do,
share their ideas and experiences and exchange
business cards.
Having been invited to present at May’s
forthcoming meeting, Anni says: “I hope this
will give me the opportunity to share my
expertise more formally with the group, promote
my business services and get valuable feedback
from other members. It is this type of
professional networking and exposure that is
critical to the success of small businesses.”
